ちょっと長そうだしと実は読み聞かせをためらっていた絵本。トッケビ（日本でいうところの鬼、悪魔）が主人公の大事にしている牛のおなかに２か月置いてほしいと頼む奇想天外なストーリー。読みながら自分も先が気になった。読み聞かせ時間は１０分と長かったが話に引き込まれ、息子は面白かったねと最後に感想を述べた。近代韓国の代表作家が子ども達のために書いた唯一の童話。淡い絵も素敵だ。

トルセはある日、仲間とはぐれしっぽを怪我したトッケビにあう。そして、トッケビはトルセの大切にしている牛のおなかに２か月居させてほしいと頼む。願いを聞いてくれたら牛の力を１０倍にしてくれると。そして、トルセは考えた末了承する。牛の力は本当に１０倍になった。２か月後、出てくるはずのトッケビは太り過ぎ牛の口から出れなくなった。トッケビは出してくれたら牛の力を１００倍にしてくれると言うのだった。
