女の子におすすめの絵本。海の色合いが素晴らしい！海の生き物たち、あわパフェ巻貝風、ソーダゼリーしんじゅクリームのせなどスウィーツの透き通るような色も美しい。宝物の部屋の輝き、女の子が絵を存分に楽しめる絵本。メルヘン好き、絵を描くのが大好きな小３の娘もイチオシ。余談になるが、「世界の本好きたちが教えてくれた人生を変えた本と本屋さん」ジェーン・マウント著の子どもが夢中になる絵本のページでどいかやさんの「チリとチリリ」が日本人著者で唯一載っていた。

チリとチリリが自転車で洞窟へ。入っていくとそこは海の中。海藻の入口をくぐると様々な貝殻のソファーがあり、美味しそうな美しいデザートが運ばれてくる。なみのあわパフェ、うみのソーダゼリー。。。そして岩の中ではお魚のダンスショー。さらに深く進むと光る入り口が。。。。
